Artist Fiona Carver creates original linocuts and paintings of the sea and coast. She is very much inspired by nature
and her surroundings with trips to the seaside providing unlimited source material for her. She paints 'en plain air' as much as possible,
enjoying the immediacy of the technique which is a nice contrast to the slow planning involved in her prints.
She uses a subtle colour palate, helping to create nostalgic yet contemporary artworks of the coast.
EXHIBITIONS AND NEW
Art in Lyddington
I was thrilled that my painting View From the Cliff Path was awarded the Judges Choice Award for a 2 dimensional exhibit at Art in Lyddington this year. A lovely surprise.
I'll be at the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair again in November where you can see all my lino prints as well as my new collection of plein air oil paintings.
11th - 12th November 2017, Royal Windsor Racecourse, Maidenhead Road, Windsor Berkshire SL4 5JJ
I was lucky enough to be interviewed by the lovely people at Folksy as part of their Meet the Maker series. Read the interview to hear more about my inspirations, practices and how I got into printmaking here.
